A Gentle Curve That Fits Comfortably in Your Hands
From meals to desserts, this all-purpose wooden bowl is designed for versatility.
Like a rice bowl without a foot (the raised base), its softly curved form fits naturally in your hands, whether held with one or both hands. The simple, well-balanced design makes anything you serve look even more appetizing.

A Total Manufacturer Specializing in Domestic Wood “Marumono”
Known as Kiji no Yamanaka (“Yamanaka, the home of wooden vessels”), the Yamanaka region has long been famous for its skill in turning wood into tableware. For three generations, Shirasagi Mokko has specialized in making marumono — round wooden items such as bowls and trays.

While Yamanaka lacquerware is often made through a division of labor, Shirasagi Mokko handles everything in one workshop: selecting raw wood, designing, shaping, and finishing. Their highly skilled lathe craftsmen are well-known in the region, and it’s said that about half of all natural-wood Yamanaka lacquerware bases are produced by Shirasagi Mokko.

Even though electric lathes allow for larger-scale production, each piece is made with care. The aim is simple yet profound: to deliver high-quality tableware to as many people as possible. The unpretentious designs reflect a commitment to creating pieces that are easy to use every day.

Their dedication to domestic wood also extends to environmental stewardship, including crowdfunding projects to help preserve forests. From protecting woodlands to sustaining traditional crafts, Shirasagi Mokko is a workshop with its eyes set firmly on the future.
